One Year
You know, if I waited a week it will have been ONE YEAR since my last blog entry. Awesome. Sounds like my attempt at journal-ing in general. So, here are my excuses: #1 My camera died and we didn't fork out the dough for another one until September so that I could use Casey's b-day as an excuse to spend the $. #2 We have been very busy, but not interesting, so no time to write and nothing to write about. Now that you are aware of the fact that I really don't have much excuse, especially for a WHOLE YEAR!!! I will try to catch you up and give you my third excuse: I just really didn't feel like it:)
Last April we spent a couple of days in Austin with friends. Aside form the great park we spent time at, the favorite spot was Krouse Springs, which is a swimming hole and pools from a natural spring, complete with rope swing. I REALLY wish I had gotten a picture of Casey doing a back flip into the water from said rope, but he did not warn me so I could turn on the camera and I was too busy trying not to slip and hurt my bum on the mossy rocks and/or keeping my children from killing themselves to have it always handy. It is really beautiful and probably even more fun on a warmer day, although overpriced, and is apparently also a good camping spot for anyone interested.
Ryan managed to graduate from Kindergarten (big surprise) and to this day still tells Mrs Faltysek that she is his girlfriend when he sees her.
Auntie Katelin came to visit us for the month of July. Sadly I have no pictures of the month of June when we were in Utah visiting, but we had a lot of fun with Kate, even if she was gone most of the time hanging out with the other teens in my ward while she was here. She would have been gone more, but had yet to turn 16 and be able to accept dates.
If you ware wondering why this random picture of a mostly naked child is in here, I would beg you to look a little more closely at my youngest child. He is in UNDERPANTS. And it wasn't my idea. And though I will not complain that he potty trained himself, and way younger than my other children were forced to, I do wish he did not have a kitten bladder and insist that he be accompanied to the toilet every time. It puts a crimp in my style to have to run to the potty a dozen times a day.
My kids saw this fairy melon abode in a magazine and begged me until I bought a melon to make it with. Albeit fun, also ultimately a very time expensive piece of rind that ended up in the garbage with all the rest of the melon rinds. Pooh pooh on mama for having an attitude problem!
We took our first trip to a theme park as a family in October (while I was 7 weeks pregnant and wanted to throw up all day) and had a GREAT time. In fact, we will be returning next week to get one more use out of our passes before we move away (Now 6 1/2 months pregnant and can't bend over any more!) Here are a few highlights:
And who has the best Batman family costumes ever! We do! I have wanted to be Poison Ivy for Halloween for my entire adult life, and this year Ryan's Batman costume made it a reality! Okay, they aren't the BEST costumes ever, but we had a lot of fun. And just so you know, colored hair spray is the WORST invention ever. I am still wiping red residue up in my bathroom and Keegan still has pink hair at his temples.
Christmas 2012: Ward Christmas party Santa and the whole works. Thanks Tam and Chrissy for the awesome wig :)
We announced just before Christmas that we will be getting another brother, for any of you that missed the memo. Simeon is the top contender, but Casey has become attached to the name Eisen (I-zen, like Eisenhaur. Means "Iron") lately. Cast your votes, or add to the ballot! The jury is still out.
Yes, that is my eldest son. Don't ask, but feel free to giggle.
These are the places we chose NOT to live instead choosing the big piece of dirt that is Blanding, UT (think Navajo reservation in SE Utah) because????? Oh, yeah, They are both in Northern ID and are too far away from grandmas. Beautiful, no? And this is the "ugly" time of year...
And they just keep growing, don't they. Here are some more random pics of the kids.
I guess I should probably add 2012 birthdays in here too so I don't have to post again just for that. My family had a lovely "surprise"party (that I knew about) for mine (the first in my children's life I think) and you can see how awesome it was from the pics. I found out how short winded pregnant ladies are when I tried to blow candles out on spread out cupcakes....
And then we had one more with bubbles and some shocking daisies. Hard to believe it's been a year.
And that's our year. Sorry my three loyal blog readers for my absence.I promise to keep my three month span up for next time!
